AMERICAN VOLUNTEER FAMILIES

They are a fundamental part of this experience. They are families with a great interest in hosting an international student, teaching their way of life and getting to know another culture. They are generally middle class and do not discriminate by race, sex or condition. They can be young or older couples, with young children or without children, single-parent families, of the same sex and of different origins: Asian, African, European or Latin American.

All of them are selected by local coordinators, must comply with State Department regulations and be authorized by the State Department, passing through economic, criminal, etc. controls.

J1 plus

In addition, the requirements are less strict than those of the J1 and there are options for practically all profiles of foreign students.

It is a personalized program for those students who want to choose an area, school, sports or academic subjects or specific subjects.
